Thursday, August 21, 3:15PM: WILDFIRE reported near Dollar Lake in the Upper Green on the Pinedale Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The fire is estimated to be 20-30 acres in size as of the time of this report; the cause is unknown. The fire is currently burning in timber. Forest personnel and Sublette County are responding to suppress the fire. A helicopter is on scene and more aviation resources have been ordered. Please avoid the area to allow firefighting personnel safe and quick access to the area. People in the area are advised to evacuate at this time. Fire danger is currently rated Very High and Stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect throughout Sublette County and on the National Forest.

Additional info: The Sheriff’s Office is recommending backcountry hikers and outdoor recreationists evacuate the area of the fire and remove their vehicles from the campground, trailhead parking lot, and dispersed camping spots. People can exit down the Green River Lakes road, but it is closed to go up it.
