Rocky Mountain STOL is an exhilarating aviation fly-in and STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) competition set to return to Pinedale, Wyoming on Friday and Saturday, August 15-16, 2025. This event promises an exciting showcase of skill and performance. Pilots from various backgrounds will converge to demonstrate their aircraft's impressive capabilities in terms of short takeoffs and landings.
National STOL events aim to be a family-friendly day out at the airport for both airplane enthusiasts and those new to general aviation. The event takes place at the Pinedale Airport, Ralph Wenz Field (KPNA), located about 6-1/2 miles south of Pinedale, 9357 US-191, Pinedale, WY 8.2941. Food trucks will be available, or you are welcome to bring small coolers. Camping chairs are encouraged, along with hats and sunscreen. Friday’s competitor practice starts at 10:00am, and Saturday’s competition begins at 9:00am. Gates open one hour before the flying begins.
The featured non-profit for this event is Warriors with Wings, represented by competitor Ryan Melendez. There will also be an appearance by Mrs. Wyoming, Carrie Bollock. They will also have the 3rd Annual Ralph Wenz People’s Choice Awards.
The airport will remain open throughout the event. Spectators are welcome.
A VIP Section is offered for Saturday only–chairs provided under a shaded tent with light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages included in the price of your admission. Space is limited. Note that the VIP Section is only open on Saturday-Friday is all general admission.

General admission tickets may be purchased online through July 15 for $15. Beginning July 16, online and on site ticket sales will increase to $20. All ticket sales are final. No advance purchase discounts for the VIP Section.
General Admission tickets for children ages 12 and under are free, but please add them to your cart when purchasing. One ticket provides access on both Friday and Saturday.

Saturday, August 16 7:00-8:00am: Competitor/Volunteer Check In/Breakfast 7:30am: Volunteer Briefing 8:00am: Competitor Safety Briefing; Gates Open for Spectators 9:00am: Competition Begins We anticipate the competition will last until between 2:00 and 3:00pm. Please stay for a special raffle drawing and the Ralph Wenz Fan Favorite Award Presentation from the runway at the close of competition! 6:00pm: Closing Dinner and Awards Ceremony for Competitors and Invited Guests
